Sloppy Joes
This popular dish makes for a quick and tasty supper.

Use only extra lean ground turkey (less than 10% fat content).

Makes 6 servings

Ingredients:
6 whole-wheat Hamburger buns
1 pound ground turkey, extra lean
1/2 red onion, minced
1 stalk celery, minced
1/2 green pepper, minced
1 clove garlic, minced
Salt and pepper to taste
1/4 tsp. chili powder
1-1/2 tsp. brown sugar
1/4 tsp. paprika
1/4 tsp. dry mustard
3/4 cup chicken broth
2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/2 cup ketchup
1/4 cup tomato sauce
2 tsp. red wine vinegar

Brown meat in a large sauté pan. Drain most of the fat and add the onion, celery, green pepper, garlic, and all dry seasonings. Cook until the vegetables are tender. Add the broth, Worcestershire, ketchup, tomato sauce, and vinegar. Simmer until thickened and mixture resembles a meaty tomato sauce. Warm the Hamburger buns in the oven. Spoon the filling into the buns.
